Standby Home Generators
In a power outage, it can be challenging to keep cooking and running a refrigerator, especially if you rely on external power to provide electricity for these items. A standby home generator is an efficient way to avoid this problem. Standby generators are typically more expensive than portable generators, but they are also quieter and more reliable. The added peace of mind is worth it!
Ceiling Fans
Are you tired of feeling like you’re in a sauna while trying to sleep? Want to make sure that your home is safe from power spikes? Ceiling fans might be the answer you need. They provide cooling by circulating air and help keep energy costs down by keeping you cool when hot outside and warm inside. Plus, ceiling fans are a great way to add style to any room in your house!
Whole-House Surge Protectors
Whole-house surge protectors help reduce damaging surges when the power goes out by creating an alternate path for electricity that would otherwise get sent back through utility lines. We can help you keep your family safe with a whole-house surge protector to protect against power surges and more. With so many options on the market, it’s hard to know which one is right for you, but at Tiger Services, we’ll show you why our products have safety and quality in mind.
Electrical FAQs
Below are some questions people often ask. If you don’t see the answer you need, please don’t hesitate to ask us! We are here 24/7 and ready to help! Our trained and experienced electricians handle any size project, so if you’re looking for an upgrade or installation on a whole-house basis, we’re confident that we can provide you with the right solution at a competitive price.
Do I Need a Special Electrical Box To Install a Ceiling Fan?
A ceiling fan can be installed with or without an electrical box. If you do not have a suitable box on the ceiling, you may need to buy a junction box or hire an electrician to install one before installing your ceiling fan and light kit. We can install that for you!
What does “grounding” mean?
Grounding helps protect against electric currents leaking into other places where you don’t want them to go because they could be dangerous. A ground wire provides a path to complete the circuit and is necessary for any grounded appliance like a refrigerator or computer.
What is a GFCI?
You get shielded from electrical shock by a device called a GFCI or ground fault circuit interrupter. When it detects a tiny increase in resistance caused by a ground fault, the GFCI will automatically shut off to protect you. A GFCI circuit breaker has two buttons, one labeled Test and one labeled Reset. When you press Test, the GFCI cycles through a test cycle of 15 seconds on and 15 seconds off to verify that it is working. If everything looks good, press Reset to turn off the GFCI breaker.
How Do I Reset My Breaker When It Has Tripped Off?
If you have a breaker that has tripped off, ensure you turn it off and wait a few minutes before turning it back on. If this doesn’t work, try resetting the circuit breaker by flipping it off and on again until the lights turn back on or plugging something else into that outlet to see if it will work (for example, plugging in a lamp). We can help with any of these services. Call us or submit the form and someone from our team will reach out to you! For urgent questions, or to make a service or install appointment, please call or schedule online.
