The summer heat is taking over the Midwest and we are all feeling the effects. Every time we open our front doors a wave of heat hits us in the face, yuck! Thank goodness for air conditioning, for making dealing with the summer heat bearable. Of course, running your AC comes with higher monthly energy costs, which is frustrating. The good news is that if your home happens to have an attic, there is a simple trick you can do to combat the summer heat and reduce cooling costs.

summer heat

It is not uncommon for the temperature in your attic to reach over 150 degrees during the summer. All of that heat has to go somewhere, right? Yes, the heat from your attic seeps into your home. Causing your AC to work harder and run longer, which causes you to spend more money cooling your home.

You can stop this endless cycle of overpaying to cool your home with one simple addition. You can greatly reduce the temperature of your attic by having an attic fan installed. An attic fan can cut the costs of your AC bill by as much as 30%.

Attic fans are a simple solution to protect your home and save you money. Fans work by drawing in cooler air from outside that replaces the boiling summer air that typically becomes trapped in your attic. These fans come with automatic turn-on and offs sensors that allow you to set the temperature you desire so your fan will not run around the clock!

P.S. An attic fan will not only help in the battle against the summer heat, but it can also protect your rafters and shingles from deteriorating. It can also help stop your floors from becoming warped over time. The fan will help keep air circulating, which keeps moisture from building up and prevents condensation from ruining your rafters and floors. During the winter months, the heat and humidity from your furnace rises into your cold attic, causing you to spend more money on your heating bill. All of the extra humidity and moisture in your attic can mix with the cold air and create frost in your attic. This frost can cause mold to grow on the wood framing in your attic.

We definitely recommend Tiger!
"My families a/c went out randomly today. I went around the house troubleshooting what I could. It got to the point where we had to call someone. We called the first places that showed up on google. Most places either wanted tons of money just for diagnostics, or couldn’t come out today. We called Tiger they went over the cost and they got someone out to our house in 45 minutes. Josh Moravec was our tech and was super professional, kind and intelligent. He was here for about 15 minutes before he figured out our issue. He went over in depth the cost and verified everything was good before getting started to resolve it. There was no pressure to buy the service if we didn’t want to. He went back down and in 15 minutes the a/c was running strong! He asked if we had any questions and then was on his way! He was great with our kids, very polite and courteous of me and my wife. He answered all our questions, and the price was more than reasonable. We definitely recommend Tiger, and make sure you ask for Josh Moravec if you can!"
